Regardless of where your evening started, if you’re looking for a fun night out, then it’s likely you’ll end up in Chaweng, and with good reason. The scope of Chaweng’s entertainment options can be somewhat baffling to first time visitors and it may take you a while to get your bearings.
The Jammer Music Pub in Chaweng
A sympathic group of talented musicians play
every night life for you. Have some good drinks,
listen to blues, jazz, rock and many other music
styles.
The Green Mango, Green Mango Road
Large and loud, the Green Mango has been around so long it’s even got a road named after it. It has one of the biggest dance areas in Chaweng and a list of drinks that anyone should be happy with. You might remember going in, but you’ll almost certainly not recall leaving.
Sweet & Soul, Green Mango Road
Almost opposite the Green Mango, Sweet & Soul is popular with locals and tourists. It’s not the largest of places, but the party revellers spilling out onto the pathway only add to the atmosphere.
The Mint Bar, Green Mango Road
Just across from Sweet & Soul is the Mint Bar, a venue that has been catching the cooler eyes since it opened almost two years ago. The bar’s continuing ability to draw some of the finest international DJs in the world, enhances the appeal of this stylish, eclectic venue.
Sound Bar, Green Mango Road
This is a popular late night bar with a swimming pool and relaxing tropical grounds among its many selling points. DJs pump out house tunes late at night, while the bar features live bands in the early evening to get you warmed up.
The Islander
The Islander is a Koh Samui institution, with one of the best central locations on the island for people watching with a cold beer in your hand. They also provide an extensive Thai and Western menu, international and local beverages and show live sporting events throughout the year including extensive coverage of European football leagues.
Tropical Murphy’s
Murphy’s is comparable in many ways to the Islander, but with just a bit more Craic. Solid Irish fare and beers are obviously a specialty, so if you’re missing a Guinness and a bowl of stew this is the place for you. There’s great live music from the Roaring Bhoys too.
The Ark Bar
Perhaps Chaweng’s best-known beach bar, the Ark is always a good bet for a party. It makes for a stunning location throughout the day, with plenty of seating inside or out on the sand. At night the candles and cushions come out, enhancing an atmosphere that already includes starry skies and gentle waves lapping Chaweng beach. The Ark Bar isn’t alone here, and you’ll find plenty of similar bars up and down the sand.
The Sportsman
If for you, Saturdays and Sundays just aren’t complete without live football then head to The Sportsman on the Chaweng beach road, a bar that boasts a huge screen, plenty of space and a large election of beers and drinks. The cavernous establishment also includes snooker tables, so it can make for a great sporting location for your weekend night out.
Co-Co Blues
If live music is your passion, then you’re in luck at this place with nightly live performances. They also serve excellent food as well as an extensive list of drinks. |
