Choeng Mon is located on the
northeastern tip of the island, only 10 minutes
away from Chaweng but perfectly for those who
want peace and quiet and a beautiful natural
environment.
The beach is a long stretch of
white sand and the waters are shallow but good
for swimming. A small island is offshore and
during periods of low tide you are able to walk
there. Be careful, there are lot's of sharp
rocks to avoid.
Choeng Mon doesn't have much of a town but there
are a number of small restaurant's and a couple
of shops. Especially the restaurants located at
the beach are nicely illuminated at night and
you can get some excellent Thai food or fresh
seafood here.
Surrounding the bay are some budget bungalows
as well as a couple very luxurious and expensive resorts.
Choeng Mon itself has hardly any nightlife, except a few
bars but being so close to Chaweng it is no problem to take
a Song Taew and hit the dancefloors there.
