Mae Nam

Maenam is located in the center of the north coast of the island. It is a quiet village with a nice calm beach running for 4 km along the scenic bay. From the beach you have a spectacular view of Koh Phangan to the north and the Ang Thong National Marine Park to the east.
The sand on Maenam beach is rather golden than white and croase-grained, but the beach is much less crowded than Chaweng or Lamai. There are lot's of palm trees located directly on the beach, providing some shade. The waters deepen quick and are calm and clean, being protected from the north easterly currents of Koh Phangan. The waters are excellent for swimming.

Maenam offers a range of budget hotels and a few 5 star luxury resorts along the beach. Maenam's restaurants and bars still retain much of the local Thai flavor as well as being more reasonably priced or even inexpensive. Maenam is quieter, more relaxed with a local Thai community still pretty much intact.

The growing number of long-term visitors and expats living here, gives Maenam a strong sense of community.
The hills behind Maenam are home to the island's spectacular and major world-class golf course.
