Wat Bophut:
Wat Bophut is located in the north of the
island. After you pass a golden and red gate you step in the the
temple area, which is surrounded by many trees. There are two
main buildings and many wooden houses. A place of tranquility
and peace. |

Wat Kiri Wongkaram:
Wat Kiri Wongkaram is noted for the mummified
body of the Buddhist monk Loung Por Ruam, which rests here. The
death body of the monk was prepared for public viewing upon 25
years ago and the body remains in good condition. South from Ban
Saket, turn right between the elephant statues. |

Wat Sumret:
Wat Sumret is guardian of the ancient white
marble Buddha, which is located in the secret halls of Buddha.
This buildings houses a fine collection of valuable Buddha
images. They are so valuable, the temple has recently suffered a
spate of thefts and now a monk opens you the door upon request.
200 m down the second concrete road on the left, west of Hua
Thanon.

Big Buddha:
Big Buddha is Samui's most famous landmark.
The 12 m tall golden image stands proudly and is visible from
several kilometers away. You can see the Big Buddha even from
air, when approaching or leaving Samui. Northeast, on route 4171
near the airport. |

Wat Silangu:
The golden Chedi facing the temple entrance is
a popular place of worship and said to contain a relic of
Buddha. On the ring road 1
km south of Hin Ta & Hin Yai on the beach side. |

Wat Khun Aram:
The body of Samui's most famous mummified monk
Loung Pordaeng is shown here in a special constructed building.
His body was placed in a meditation position and he hardly shows
any sign of decay. Between Na Muang waterfall and Hua Thanon. |

Coral Buddha:
This small statue was formerly one of Samui's main
attractions and is visited only by Buddhist devotes. Coral
Buddha is in need of repair, but it is still revered and a place
of worship for monks of the nearby wat. 800 m west of Hua Thanon,
on the right side. |

Laem Sor Pagoda:
The pagoda is located on the grounds of Wat
Laem Sor. It appears golden from the distance, but is covered in
countless small yellow tiles. |

Wat Plai Laem:
The temple is famous for the hundred of big
fish, living in the artificial lake and waiting to be fed. It is
one of the most colorful temple on Samui and features an 18 arms
strong Buddha statue set in the middle of the lake. |

Buddha's Footprint:
You are able to see four foot-prints,
superimposed one on another. They are housed in a modest shrine
150 steps up a hill and each one is artistically en-graved.
There are no signs, but going up a concrete slope on the left, 2
km west of the turn off for Butterfly Garden. |
